My kid at the show

Hinterland All Breed Cat Club - Gold Coast Show

Oskar with his haul from the Gold Coast show last Saturday.  So proud of him.  He was up against 16 fabulous kittens and Oskar was placed in the top 10 in 3 rings.

10th August 2008

Cooloola Gold Feline Society - Gympie Show

Gympie at 2 degrees early on a Sunday morning.

Was still such a fun day though.

Oskar was quite content sitting in his blue curtains for the show.  Even with a little Maine Coon constantly meowing next to him.

Marisa Thistlewaite was first ring Judge.  She had a more experienced judge assisting her as she is in the Learning stage of judging.  She did not place Oskar in the top 10.  She did not like his dappled complexion on his seal face and said that his tail was a bit too short. But said his body was good solid shape with very good eye colour.

Julie Walker (QICC) was our second ring judge.  Boosted my confidence in Oskar quite a bit placing him 8th out of 15 kittens.  She told me he lost a lot of points because of a dappled appearance on his face, paws and tail.  But that it would correct itself with age and new coat. But good build, size, coat & very good eye colour.

Barbara Darwen was the third ring judge.  Completed our day on a high, giving Oskar a 9th place in her Top 10 kittens.  So happy.  She did not have too much that she thought pulled him down, but thought that all would improve with age.

All judges reminded me that he was very young competing with 7 & 8 mth old kittens that had a lot more on him because of age.  His coat is still changing and his dappled appearance on his face is because he is a kitten.

         WELL DONE OSKAR!

Wow.  Oskar at his first show.
